Asia Pacific Journal of Elections and Democracy (APJED) is looking for six junior authors who are interested in elections and democracy in the Asia Pacific to join our writing clinic program. We accept manuscripts grounded in political science, economics, anthropology, cultural and gender studies, history, and other related fields. We also have a broad understanding of democracy, ranging from the dynamics of grassroots activism to the operations of elite politics. All selected authors will join a two-month program to receive training and in-depth feedback from experienced writing coaches and peers. The writing workshop and clinic will cover the substantive, technical, and language aspects of journal writing. All manuscripts that pass peer review will be published in APJED. Draft submission deadline: 27 August 2022.

Requirements:

  1. University students (including graduate students) and early career researchers (max. three years after obtaining their PhD).
  2. Submit a paper draft by 27 August 2022 (min. 3,000 words) 
  3. Must clearly state the research: 1) puzzle/questions; 2) arguments; 3) significance; 4) methods; and 5) findings
  4. Willing to participate in writing workshops and coaching clinic sessions.
  5. Willing to publish the final draft in APJED.
  6. Comply with the aims and scope of APJED.
  7. Open to all nationalities.
